Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia Visits National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

A delegation led by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, who is on an official visit to Greece, has visited the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where they met with the university’s Vice-Rector, Efstathios Efstathopoulos.

Expressing gratitude to the Minister for the visit, the Vice-Rector presented the university's activities, emphasizing that they are interested in cooperating with higher education institutions in Armenia.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports presented the ongoing reforms in Armenia's higher education and science system, particularly addressing the "Academic City" program. She highlighted that expanding international cooperation is one of the main directions for the development of Armenia’s higher education and science sector.

Familiarizing herself with the educational programs of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Zhanna Andreasyan noted that similar faculties also exist at Yerevan State University. Both sides emphasized that inter-university cooperation programs can be implemented, particularly in theology, physical culture and sports, as well as other fields.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of developing partnership ties within the EU’s Erasmus Plus program, particularly through student and faculty exchange programs and other joint initiatives.

It should be noted that the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is included in the list of the 200 best universities in the world.
