Cultural Cooperation Memorandum Signed Between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia and the Ministry of Culture of Greece

Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, met with the Minister of Culture of Greece, Stilianí (Lina) Mendoni, at the National Gallery of Greece, where memorandum of understanding regarding cultural cooperation were signed between the two countries.

Zhanna Andreasyan expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that the friendly relations and historical similarities between Armenia and Greece provide a strong foundation for further strengthening and expanding cooperation, particularly in the field of culture.

Minister Andreasyan presented the main directions for the development of the cultural sector, stressing the importance of implementing joint projects in various areas. Both parties highlighted the great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation and expressed their readiness to expand bilateral ties through collaborative initiatives.

During the meeting, discussions took place on cultural exchange programs, inter-museum cooperation, organizing cultural days in both countries, joint exhibitions and film production projects, as well as the exchange of experience in cultural heritage preservation and management.

Following the meeting, documents related to cultural cooperation were signed. Specifically, a program for cooperation in the field of culture, an agreement on preventing the illicit trafficking of cultural goods, a memorandum of understanding between the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Thessaloniki Megaron Concert Hall, and a memorandum of cooperation between the Armenian Cinema Foundation and the Greek Film Center were signed.

Ministers Zhanna Andreasyan and Stilianí (Lina) Mendoni expressed confidence that the signed documents will breathe new life into the cultural ties between Armenia and Greece and will open new horizons for cooperation.

A number of other matters of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
