Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan Meets with Deputy Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Giannis Plakiotakis

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Hellenic Republic, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with Mr. Giannis Plakiotakis, Deputy Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament.

At the request of his interlocutor, Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented details of the Washington Agreements signed on August 8 of this year, highlighting the necessary steps for advancing the peace agenda. He highly appreciated the support of international partners, including Greece, in establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus.

Mr. Plakiotakis reaffirmed Greece’s support for the Washington Agreements and the peace process, as well as for the deepening of Armenia–EU relations.

The two also addressed various issues on the bilateral agenda between Armenia and Greece. The importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary contacts and mutual visits between the two countries was emphasized. They discussed the possibility of an upcoming visit to Armenia by the Greece-Armenia Friendship Group.
