Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Hellenic Republic, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kostis Hatzidakis.

The meeting focused on the next steps to further deepen bilateral relations, with special emphasis placed on efforts aimed at economic diplomacy. The Greek official underscored the importance of sectoral cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, construction, and tourism. He also reaffirmed Greece’s consistent readiness to support Armenia in every possible way within the framework of the European Union.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan highlighted the strong momentum of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including defense, culture, science, and education.

He also briefed Mr. Hatzidakis on the agreements reached in August this year in Washington between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan, mediated by the President of the United States. These agreements are based on the principles of mutual sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Deputy Prime Minister Hatzidakis reiterated Greece’s well-known position, noting that Greece welcomed the Washington agreements and hopes that final peace agreements can be signed in the near future.

The two also discussed upcoming high-level bilateral visits planned for the near future.
