Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan Meets with Members of the Greece-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with members of the Greece-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Hellenic Parliament.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan briefed the members of the Friendship Group on the process and results of the parliamentary elections held in Armenia on June 7, 2026.

The Ambassador emphasized the importance of intensifying contacts between the Hellenic Parliament and Armenia’s newly elected parliament, formed as a result of democratic elections, as well as organizing reciprocal visits in the near future.

The upcoming developments in bilateral Armenia-Greece relations were also discussed, along with the challenges related to diversifying Armenia’s economy, including opportunities to expand access to the Greek market.

Head of the Greece-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group Vasilis Oikonomou congratulated the Armenian people on the election results and noted that the Friendship Group plans to visit Armenia in the coming months.

Members of the Friendship Group emphasized the importance of further developing Greece-Armenia relations across all fields and at all levels, including through multilateral interparliamentary platforms. They also shared information about their engagement with Armenian community organizations in Greece.
