Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan Meets with Representatives of the Armenian Community of Crete

At the invitation of Archbishop Eznik Petrosyan, Spiritual Overseer of Armenians in Crete, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Hellenic Republic, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with representatives of the Armenian community of Crete in the hall of Saint John the Baptist Armenian Church in Heraklion.

The meeting was attended by Bishop Khoren Arakelian, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Greece, and Bishop Tatev Hakobyan, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church Diocese of Romania and Bulgaria.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented the current and growing cooperation between Armenia and Greece, highlighting the deepening bilateral relations in the fields of politics, defense, culture, education, and economy, as well as recent achievements in these areas.

Following his remarks, Ambassador Mkrtchyan responded to questions from the attendees.

Prior to the meeting, an event was held in the church hall on the theme “The First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in the Armenian Church.” Speeches were delivered by Archbishop Eznik Petrosyan, Bishop Khoren Arakelian, and Bishop Tatev Hakobyan.

Among the attendees of the event were Frangiskos Parasiris, Member of the Hellenic Parliament, and Zacharis Evangelos, President of the Regional Council.
