02 October, 2025

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Hellenic Republic, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with the Minister of Tourism of Greece, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni.

The meeting focused on intensifying cooperation between Armenia and Greece in the field of tourism. In this context, they discussed the cooperation outlined in the protocol of the 6th session of the Armenia-Greece Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, including the organization of the first session of the Armenian-Greek Joint Committee on Tourism in Yerevan.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan expressed his gratitude to Minister Kefalogianni for supporting the Armenian-Greek State College of Tourism, Service, and Food Industry and for facilitating the summer training program of the college's students in the city of Rethymno, on the island of Crete.

The Ambassador also presented the international events organized this year by the Tourism Committee of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy and emphasized the importance of participation by both Greek public and private sector institutions.

Special attention was given to the existence and frequency of direct flights between Armenia and Greece, and it was noted that the increasing number of airline carriers reflects the growing mutual interest in tourism cooperation.
