Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan Presented Armenia’s Foreign Policy Achievements of 2025 in Greece

20 December, 2025

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with representatives of a number of prominent youth and civil society organizations operating in Greece and delivered a lecture summarizing Armenia’s foreign policy achievements throughout 2025.

The Ambassador specifically addressed progress achieved in three key directions.

First, he presented the documents signed in Washington in August, as well as the Washington Declaration. In this context, he highlighted the importance of the “Trump Path for Peace and Prosperity” within the framework of the “Crossroads of Peace” project, as well as its legal formalization and support by the United States. Prospects for establishing peace with Azerbaijan and the resulting opportunities for regional development were also discussed.

Subsequently, Ambassador Mkrtchyan referred to the strategic partnership document established between the Republic of Armenia and the United States in January 2025, covering the areas of economy, security and defense, democracy, inclusiveness, and people-to-people relations. The Ambassador added that the institutional nature of the strategic relationship was reaffirmed by the new U.S. administration, both through statements by the U.S. President and through bilateral documents signed in Washington.

The unprecedented progress achieved in relations with the European Union was also presented in detail, with the most important component being the Armenia–EU Strategic Partnership Agenda document signed in Brussels in December. The multifaceted cooperation with the EU, based on shared values and mutual interests, was outlined.

The Ambassador also addressed Armenia–Greece multifaceted cooperation, the process of normalization of Armenia–Turkey relations, Armenia–Russia relations, and Armenia–Iran relations, and answered all questions from the participants.

The meeting was attended by more than fifty representatives of the Student Association for International Affairs (SAFIA), the Association of International and European Affairs (ODETH), Young European Federalists – Greece (JEF Greece), the EU Youth Hub, the Synergia Institute for Public Policy, the Debate House youth organization, and the Hellenic National Youth Council.
