18 March, 2026

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, delivered a lecture at the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) School on the topic “The Architecture of Armenia’s Foreign Policy: Opportunities and Challenges”, which was also broadcast online.

In his lecture, the Ambassador highlighted developments in several key areas:

He presented the documents signed in Washington in August, emphasizing the importance of the “Trump Route for Peace and Prosperity” in conjunction with the “Crossroads of Peace” project, as well as their legal basis and support from the United States.

The prospects for establishing peace with Azerbaijan and the potential regional development arising from it were discussed.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan referred to the strategic partnership agreement signed between Armenia and the United States in January 2025, which covers economic cooperation, security and defense, democracy, inclusivity, and interpersonal relations. He noted that the institutional nature of the strategic relations has been reaffirmed by the new U.S. administration, both at the level of the U.S. President and through bilateral documents signed in Washington.

He also detailed the unprecedented progress in Armenia’s relations with the European Union, highlighting the December signing in Brussels of the Armenia–EU Strategic Partnership Agenda, and emphasized the EU’s multilayered cooperation based on shared values and mutual interests.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan addressed Armenia–Greece multifaceted cooperation, highlighting opportunities and the imperative to elevate bilateral relations to a new level.

The lecture included discussion of the processes for normalizing relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia’s relations with Russia and Iran.

He also presented Armenia’s mutually beneficial relations with the Asian region and the expansion of Armenia’s diplomatic engagement globally across multiple areas.

The lecture was followed by a Q&A session, during which Ambassador Mkrtchyan responded to all questions.
