On April 16, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, held a meeting with the Vice President of the Government (Deputy Prime Minister) of the Hellenic Republic, Kostis Hatzidakis.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented the agenda of Armenia–Greece relations, referring to the directions for deepening bilateral cooperation. The recent high-level official visits to Greece were also highlighted.

The interlocutors exchanged views on regional developments and issues related to the unblocking of communications. Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented Armenia’s initiatives aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, including the “TRIPP Route” project, as an important factor for expanding regional economic ties and investment opportunities.

The sides also discussed opportunities for expanding economic cooperation. Ambassador Mkrtchyan emphasized the importance of strengthening business-to-business contacts and proposed organizing a visit to Armenia by a Greek business delegation, including representatives from the construction, information technology, renewable energy, and agricultural sectors.

Reference was also made to upcoming events, including the European Political Community (EPC) Summit to be held in Yerevan and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biodiversity (COP17), which will take place in Armenia this autumn. The Ambassador presented the preparatory work underway for these internationally significant events.

Deputy Prime Minister Hatzidakis highly appreciated the prospects for the development of bilateral relations, stressing the need to further elevate the level of cooperation and expressing readiness to support the advancement of the process. He also expressed interest in visiting Armenia and exploring opportunities for the development of economic cooperation.
